Art Yard Leaders in Training (LIT) Program
Are you ready to turn your creativity into leadership? The Art Yard Leaders in Training (LIT) program at the Aurora Cultural Centre gives teens the chance to build real-world experience while supporting our March Break and Summer Art Yard camps. Participants work alongside our arts educators, gain hands-on leadership and facilitation skills, and explore how creativity, teamwork, and community come together in a vibrant arts environment.
What you’ll get:
- Verified volunteer hours (signed & documented)
- Certificate of Completion recognizing leadership-in-training experience
- Written skills feedback from ACC staff (including but not limited to strengths and areas for growth)
- A resume-ready role description
- Behind-the-scenes exposure to camp facilitation, artist leadership, and arts administration
- An opportunity to work directly with professional artists and arts educators
- An environment in which to build your network for future opportunities
LITs develop confidence, communication skills, and a deeper understanding of arts programming – all while earning valuable volunteer hours, strengthening resumes and post-secondary applications, and connecting with a creative peer community. It’s a great opportunity to grow as an artist, a leader, and a mentor in a supportive and fun camp setting.
