Exhibition Opportunity
December is our darkest month of the year with just one and a half weeks of total daylight in the entire calendar month. Reflecting on the renewal of earlier sunsets and later sunrises; our perennial period of darkness; we ask artists to submit work that depicts, celebrates, or is inspired/influenced by the darkness of night. Artwork with literal and abstract interpretations of the theme will be considered so long as it can be connected in your artist statement.
Accepted artworks will be exhibited in our temporary exhibition space at Aurora Town Hall from Dec. 2, 2023 – Jan. 27, 2024. Artists are responsible for transportation / shipment of all work to and from the gallery and will receive a small honorarium for their participation. Artworks for sale are subject to a 40% commission if sold.
Submission Guidelines:
- Artists may submit up to 3 pieces of artwork.
- All 2-dimensional work must be ready-to-hang with d-rings and wire attached to the back.
- All mediums are welcome and encouraged, however, due to limits in our present gallery space, artwork requiring a continuous power source (ie. monitor or projector) or with installation requirements outside of our technical limits may not be attainable at this time.
Submission Deadline: 11:59 PM, October 21, 2023
