Discover the beauty of working with the brilliant colours of soft pastels with signature artist Clarence Porter (PAC, MPAC, PSA). In this half-day workshop geared to beginners and experienced alike, you will learn how to work with this purely pigmented medium and gain an understanding of the elements of colour theory, composition, layering and design. Participants will have fun and leave with their own pastel piece!
If you cannot attend the live session, you may opt to purchase a registration and watch the recorded workshop after the live session has ended. Registrants will be emailed a link to the recorded live session. Registrants are not permitted to share the link with others.

Supplies
You may opt to provide your own tools and materials (see Materials List above for items needed), or choose to select the package which includes an art kit with tools and materials along with a free tote bag provided by the Centre.

Requirements
In order to participate in our virtual workshop you will need access to a stable internet connection, a free Zoom account, a computer, laptop or tablet with a camera and microphone, and a dedicated space to make art. Bring your art supplies, snacks, a lunch, and your imagination!
Meet Your Instructor
Instructor Clarence Porter has been working with pastels for over 10 years. He received his Master Pastel Artist of Canada (MPAC) signature designation from Pastel Artists Canada in 2014 and his signature designation from the Pastel Society of America in 2016. He is also a member of the International Association of Pastel Societies.
