Calling all beginners and those who have never held a brush before! Spend an evening learning how to create a beautiful sunflower image in watercolour in a virtual paint-along experience. Learn the basics, have fun, and leave with a completed piece in this workshop taught by esteemed artist-instructor Nancy Newman.

FREE – with Art Kit

Supplies

Registration includes FREE Art Kit, which contains brush, paints, palette, and watercolour paper. Just supplement your kit with table salt and two water containers from home.

Zoom access information will be provided to registered students via email closer to the start date.

Requirements

In order to participate in our virtual workshop you will need access to a stable internet connection, a free Zoom account, a computer, laptop or tablet with a camera and microphone, and a dedicated space to make art. Bring your art supplies, snacks, and your imagination!

Meet Your Instructor

Instructor Nancy Newman (B.A.) is a retired art teacher from the York Region District School Board. She is an active practicing artist and is affiliated with a number of professional artist groups, such as the Toronto Watercolour Society, the Society of York Region Artists, the East Central Ontario Art Association, the Canadian Society of Painters in Watercolour, along with the Blue Mountain Foundation for the Arts. Nancy has exhibited in dozens of solo and group exhibitions across the province. She has over 40 years of experience in curriculum writing, educational workshops, along with literacy and arts leadership
