Want to get happy? Learn to play the oh-so-hip ukulele! Come to this ground level introductory course – no musical theory required. You will learn all of the basics: the most commonly used chords, standard tuning, and simple strumming techniques. By the end, you’ll be able to play all of your favourite songs. Bring a ukulele in working order and a notebook. Class includes weekly live-online interactive sessions with your instructor and fellow classmates for discussion along with question & answer, as well as weekly pre-recorded video tutorials and digital hand outs that you can view at your own pace and revisit as many times as you’d like!

Requirements:
- Access to a stable internet connection
- Free Gmail account for Google Classroom & Google Meet live sessions
- Computer, laptop or tablet with a camera and microphone
- Dedicated space to make art
- Supplies specific to your program

Meet Your Instructor
Instructor Anthony Clayton (B.A. Hons., B.Ed., Orff) grew up in a musical family and went to York University, graduating with a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) degree. He then attained a teaching degree from the University of Western. Anthony completed his Orff degree from the Toronto Royal Conservatory of Music and is currently a Music teacher with the York Catholic District School Board. Anthony has been teaching guitar, ukulele, and vocal lessons for the past 15 years to students of all ages. He loves writing music and performs regularly across York Region.
