A joyful introduction to the fundamentals of painting in acrylics in this beginner class while learning to see the shapes, colours, and values that create successful composition. Learn brush and paint selection, colour theory, and techniques to develop your personal style. Materials List available for download above.

Meet Your Instructor 

With over 30 years of graphic design experience, MichelleRichards-Clermont is an artist and educator specializing in traditional techniques like color theory, composition, drawing, and interpretation. Active in the Richmond Hill Group of Artists, Michelle has played a vital role in community projects, including Culture Days, RHGA art shows, and the Annual Mill Pond Splash Eco Festival, where she orchestrated the successful Pollinators Printmaking Project with over 150 participants. A 2014 Mayor’s Endowment Fund recipient, Michelle extends her passion for art education to Clearwater Farm in Georgina, leading environmentally friendly programs. Notably, she recently guided the community project of painting a 1,200 L water storage tank during the October 2021 Grand Opening, engaging over 100 families.
