Monday-Friday | April 12 – 16 | 9:30AM – 12:30PM

Join us from the comfort of your home and stay engaged this Spring Break creating art, playing games, and getting up on your feet to move around in this week-long half-day virtual camp. Young artists will draw, paint, and sketch while using a variety of art techniques, tools, and materials. Parental guidance is welcome, but not required.

Please note the afternoon session is no longer available.

Supplies:

You may opt to provide your own tools and materials (see Materials List for items needed), or choose to select the package which includes an art kit with tools and materials, free t-shirt, and tote bag provided by the Centre. If you choose the second option, the kit will be available for curbside pick-up in Aurora.  You will be provided both options at time of purchase.

If you opt to purchase your own supplies, we recommend purchasing art supplies from either: Curry’s, DeSerres, Michaels, or Amazon. Curbside Pick-Up:

If opting to purchase the Art Kit, curbside pick-up information below:

  • Friday, April 9, 4:30 pm – 6:00 pm
  • Aurora Town Hall, 100 John West Way Aurora, ON L4G 6J1, North EntranceUpper Level Parking Lot (NOT the main entrance)
  • April 7, 2021: Please note that in consultation with York Region Public Health, the Aurora Cultural Centre has confirmed that curbside pickup of Art Kits is permitted during the provincial Shutdown and Stay-at-Home Order under Schedule 1 of ONTARIO REGULATION 11/21 , specifically related to “Receiving or providing training or educational services.” The Aurora Cultural Centre will ensure that all necessary COVID-19 precautions are taken during curbside pickup, including mask-wearing and physical distancing.

Requirements:

  • Access to a stable internet connection
  • Free Zoom account for Zoom live sessions
  • Computer, laptop or tablet with a camera and microphone
  • Dedicated space to make art
  • Supplies specific to your program

Please note Zoom access information will be provided to registered students via email closer to the start date.

Meet Your Instructor

Instructor Kimberley Smith enjoys teaching painting to make a difference with people in her communities. She recognizes the need to safely bring people together during the pandemic. She is passionate about building connections and giving participants time to take their mind off things while they create a fun, memorable experience! Kimberley went to George Brown College of Applied Arts & Technology and has worked in many marketing and graphic design positions before building her own businesses, Young at Heart Painting and Kimberfly Design.
