Situated within the period of shortest days and longest nights of our calendar year, Perennial Darkness reflects upon the various forms of artistic expression lured out by the seasonal absence of sunlight.
Interweaving the complimentary forms of visual art and written word, the Aurora Cultural Centre is collaborating with poets within the Writer’s Community of York Region (WCYR) to create creative written responses to the exhibited artworks, sparked from a gathering between the poets and artists together. Dialogues from this collaboration will be on view as part of the exhibition.
Join us Thursday December 7th from 6:30 – 8:30 pm for the free public reception of Perennial Darkness to connect with artists and poets, enjoy light refreshments, and celebrate the night. Entrance for the reception is through the Upper/North entrance of Aurora Town Hall only.
