Sunday | October 15 | One Day | 1:00 – 3:00 pm | Ages 16+
Tap into your artistic and creative self and learn the art of modern calligraphy using a brush pen. The workshop begins with learning how to hold a brush pen followed by an introduction to the basic strokes and exercises to get you comfortable with using the pen. Students will then apply the foundational skills learned to write letter forms, connect words and write phrases and short quotes. By the end of the class you will be able to write the entire lower case alphabet in a modern calligraphy style. The workshop will culminate in students applying their knowledge to create a piece of word art – a quote that can be framed or given to someone as a gift.
This workshop is perfect for beginners, as well as those who want to learn another art form. No experience needed!
Materials Fee of $10 payable to instructor at beginning of workshop.
Meet Your Instructor
Liana Marinelli is the creative behind @creativelidesigns. An educator, digital artist and pen & paper modern calligrapher who has taught a variety of workshops for beginners.
She began her calligraphic journey in high school learning Italic script using a fountain pen. As an educator and life long learner, Liana took many art courses outside of her teaching role, completing a Digital Imaging Certificate. Liana has a passion for the art of lettering and loves sharing her knowledge with others.
