Would you like to get your hands dirty and discover the joy of working in clay? Today’s your chance as we celebrate Culture Days with a free Play with Clay activity, perfect for the whole family. Join members of the Pine Tree Potters’ Guild as you learn hand-building from the best. Whether you’ve worked in the clay medium before, or this is your first time, you’ll have an afternoon of hands-on discovery and messy fun. It’s perfect interactive event for the whole family.
You’ll also discover what it’s like when clay hits the wheel, with a demonstration of this process by members of the Guild.
While in the galleries today, enjoy the final day of View from the Pines, a juried group exhibition of fine ceramic new works by over 40 members of the Pine Tree Potters’ Guild. Distinguished juror’s Janna Hiemstra, Executive Director of Craft Ontario and Angelo di Petta, internationally renowned ceramic artist, will assess work according to craftsmanship, excellence of design and originality. Reviewing over 90 submissions, the jury selected 48 pieces of art for the exhibition that reflect fine craftsmanship, excellence of design and originality. All works available for sale.
Docent Brenda Zysman will be on hand to talk about their processes and answer any clay-questions you may have.
