Embark on a journey through the evolution of book craftsmanship, unravel the inner structure of a book, and craft a one-of-a-kind personal journal. Whether you’re a teenager, young adult, or seasoned enthusiast, join us for a day of hands-on bookbinding and community connection.  Students are encouraged to bring their own personalizing items (ie, beads, ribbons, fancy papers).  

Materials Fee: $30 for a curated kit, payable to instructor OR can purchase own materials using materials list above.  Various types of fancy paper available from the instructor for $5.

Meet Your Instructor

Mohammad Tabesh (he/him) is an engineer turned artist residing and working in Toronto. His practice is focused on the human condition, the art of resistance, and art and social change. Through writing, printmaking, multimedia, and sculpture, he explores modes of storytelling in which narrative is embedded in the artwork. Mohammad is the 2020 recipient of the OCAD University’s Sculpture and Installation medal.   Please visit his websiteandInstagram.
