Join Ashlyn Gregory, Gallery Manager, in conversation with Jing Fu, the solo artist of Unearthed – My Equilibrium, exhibited in Homeroom Galleries from May 14 – August 13, 2026.

Jing Fu (b. 1972) grew up in the urban environment of Shanghai, China, with limited access to nature. This restriction deepened her longing for the natural world, which she sees as ‘a symbol of freedom and escape from stress”. In 1998, Fu immigrated to Toronto, and then 10 years ago to Newmarket where she was inspired by its beautiful trails and landscapes. Fu captures the beauty of nature, inspiring appreciation and environmental awareness.  She is continually exploring new techniques to strengthen her connection with nature and her audience, advocating for a shared responsibility to protect the planet.
