If you have always wanted to play guitar – with friends, by a campfire, or for yourself in your favourite room – this course is for you. Beginning Guitar is an accompaniment-based group course designed to introduce you to a range of chords and strum patterns that will get you on your way. Bring an acoustic guitar in working order, a tuner, and a notebook.
Meet Your Instructor
Instructor Anthony Clayton (B.A. Hons., B.Ed., Orff) grew up in a musical family and went to York University, graduating with a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) degree. He then attained a teaching degree from the University of Western. Anthony completed his Orff degree from the Toronto Royal Conservatory of Music and is currently a Music teacher with the York Catholic District School Board. Anthony has been teaching guitar, ukulele, and vocal lessons for the past 15 years to students of all ages. He loves writing music and performs regularly across York Region.
