Art Bytes | Joan Yerema and Jay Yerema-Weafer “Painting Large Scale”
Mother and Daughter, Joan Yerema and Jay Yerema-Weafer, respectfully, combine their brushstrokes to create their masterpieces together. While living in Italy, this duo was inspired by Renaissance artists who drew upon the individual qualities of another … and they have been painting together ever since!
After retiring from a successful nursing career, Joan Yerema is essentially a self-taught artist whose technique was further illuminated by studying at the Isabel O’Neil Studio & School for the Art of the Painted Finish in New York City.
Joan’s daughter, Jay Yerema-Weafer is a graduate of the Ontario College of Art & Design in Toronto. Her versatile style embraces classical realism combined with contemporary experimentation. Their paintings are found in both public and private collections, and have exhibited in Canada, USA & Europe.
