Thank you for your interest in attending Aurora Cultural Centre Programs. Due to COVID-19 health and safety protocols participant registration is limited and currently this program is sold out. Should spaces become available we will contact patrons in sequential order. We must receive payment information at the time of contact in order to be eligible. At time of purchase you will be asked to provide contact and emergency information for each registrant.

 

Saturdays | 5 weeks 

Take an artistic voyage of discovery around the globe to learn about famous artists, their unique styles, and how they were inspired by the world around them. Students will explore various genres such as still life, portraits, and landscapes while using multiple mediums such as acrylic paint, watercolour, pastels, charcoal, and clay!

More information about required art supplies will be provided via email in advance of the program.

Visual arts classes for children include:

  • Studio-style learning
  • Visits to the Centre’s onsite galleries
  • End-of session art show
  • Free t-shirt for messy fun!

Meet Your Instructor

Instructor Danielle Zafirovski is a teacher with York Region District School Board and a practicing visual artist, specializing in painting and printmaking. Danielle has her Fine Arts degree (B.F.A.) from Queen’s University and her Teaching degree (B.Ed, Arts Integration) from York University. Danielle is OCT certified to teach Primary, Junior, Intermediate, and Senior Visual Arts and History. She has also taken additional qualifications in Special Education Pt. 1 and English as a Second Language Pt. 1. As an LTO teacher with YRDSB Danielle has taught at Unionville PS, Central Park PS, Mount Joy PS, Ellen Fairclough PS, and Markham District HS. She has also taught at YRDSB Arts Camp along with Art Grid in Richmond Hill. Danielle is excited to bring her passion and expertise to our children’s programs!
