Timing note: Great Artist Music Series concerts start at 7 pm with a pre-concert talk followed by the concert.
Internationally acclaimed classical guitarist Ana Vidovic makes her first visit to the Great Artist Music Series in a program to include Toroba’s Sonatina, Giuliani’s Gran Sonata Eroica, three pieces by Piazzola and Bach’s Cello Suite #1. The artist will begin the evening with a pre-concert talk at 7 pm with internationally renowned classical guitarist and Great Artist Music Series Co-Artistic Director Norbert Kraft.
Growing up Croatia, Ms. Vidovic started playing guitar at the age of 5. She became the youngest student at age 13 to attend the prestigious National Musical Academy in Zagreb where she studied with Professor Istvan Romer, and subsequently graduated from the Peabody Conservatory. She has been recognized with prizes and international competitions, including first prizes in the Albert Augustine International Competition in Bath, England, the Fernando Sor competition in Rome and the Francisco Tarrega competition in Spain. In Croatia, the guitarist has performed Symphony Orchestra of the Croatian Radio and Television, as well as having been featured in three television documentaries by the eminent Croatian film director Petar Krelja.
Ms. Vidovic records on both the Octave and Naxos labels. Her most recent release is Live at Hampden Hall.
