Saturdays | Class skips May 16 for Victoria Day Weekend

Young artists in this class will explore a range of techniques and styles. Using a variety of tools and materials, students will learn how to draw, paint, sculpt and more while using acrylic paint, watercolours, pastels, clay, India ink and more!

Visual arts classes for children include:

  • All tools and materials
  • Studio-style learning
  • Visits to the Centre’s onsite galleries
  • End-of session art show
  • Free t-shirt for messy fun!

Meet Your Instructor

Instructor Danielle Zafirovski is a teacher with York Region District School Board and a practicing visual artist, specializing in painting and printmaking. Danielle has her Fine Arts degree (B.F.A.) from Queen’s University and her Teaching degree (B.Ed, Arts Integration) from York University. Danielle is OCT certified to teach Primary, Junior, Intermediate, and Senior Visual Arts and History. She has also taken additional qualifications in Special Education Pt. 1 and English as a Second Language Pt. 1. As an LTO teacher with YRDSB Danielle has taught at Unionville PS, Central Park PS, Mount Joy PS, Ellen Fairclough PS, and Markham District HS. She has also taught at YRDSB Arts Camp along with Art Grid in Richmond Hill. Danielle is excited to bring her passion and expertise to our children’s programs!
