Community Rental Spaces

Please email us at info@auroraculturalcentre.ca with a subject line of OUR SPACES if you are interested in hosting your next event in one of our spaces!

Please note: We regret that the Centre is unable to accept bookings for weddings and wedding receptions.

The powerful red wall of this welcoming space provides a dramatic backdrop for art and events.

At 1005 square feet, this gallery is located on the main floor of the Centre in the south west corner. It is equipped with gallery lighting and a state of the art wall hanging system. With sunny environs and location beside the front entrance of the Centre, this space is highly desired. Several of the Centre’s instructional arts programs take place here where students are inspired by the changing gallery shows surrounding them.

This beautiful gallery has welcomed community events, drawing & watercolour classes, small musical groups, public meetings, pottery sales and of course an ever changing landscape of gallery exhibitions.

The Blue Gallery is identified by its signature blue wall and its state of the art gallery lighting, and is our primary gallery space. Blue Gallery benefits from modern translucent blinds between the outer and inner windows to further reduce light if required. Slightly larger than Meridian Gallery, this beautiful space is 1102 sq. feet and creates a stunning gallery experience. While primarily a space for the display of art and artifacts, Blue Gallery has also hosted art receptions, silent auctions, workshops, and corporate luncheons.

Apple Suites Gallery is strategically located in the midst of all the happenings at the Centre; on the main floor in the busy main entrance area. It is a welcoming space that encourages one to enjoy intimate experiences with the art it showcases.

This dramatic space entered by the Centre’s historic staircase (or modern elevator) has proven itself to be a lively gallery. Located on the second level, this 1014 sq foot gallery is in the midst of the action taking place in the Centre’s large adjoining performance space (Brevik Hall). Here we have hosted wonderful art exhibition receptions, small musical ensembles, community fundraisers and corporate rentals.

This wonderful multi-use performance space is named in honour of Margaret Brevik, whose generous bequest made the restoration of this room, and in particular, the acquisition of our lighting and AV systems, possible.

With its portable stage, professional theatrical curtains, sound, light, projection systems and fabulous Yamaha C7 Grand Piano, Brevik Hall is an intimate and beautiful performance space. Seating 150 theatre-style the hall has hosted some of Canada’s finest classical pianists (Anton Kuerti, Jane Coop, Jamie Parker to name a few), jazz, roots and indie performers (Paul Neufeld, Michael Occhipinti, The Good Lovelies, Sultans of String to name a few) and young emerging performers such as Stacy Kaniuk and the Aurora High School Senior Jazz Band. The 1884 sq foot hall can be divided into two smaller spaces by way of the original 1889 folding separation wall. Apart from our concerts, Brevik Hall has entertained corporate rentals, workshops, conferences, galas, heritage lectures, dances, music classes, family celebrations (birthday parties, commemorative services) and community fundraisers. When the Aurora Farmers’ and Artisans’ Market leaves its outdoor location for the winter months, the entire upper level of the Centre is transformed into a vibrant community market once a month.

Located on the main floor opposite the Red Galley with golden floors, sunny windows, tin ceiling and modern birch surfaces with steel & glass cabinetry, this space is especially enticing. The 575sq foot Library Room boasts 26 feet of glass display cases along the north wall. Our board style set up seats 16 around a modern birch table with room for flip charts and projector/laptop. In this serene space the Centre holds writing and art classes, Board and committee meetings and rents out for small corporate meetings, book launches and workshops.

We love to refer to this 1740 sq foot space on the lower level as our “messy art space”. It is actually quite neat but it is where some of our fun and fabulous art classes can become quite exuberant without worry. Good lighting, counters, sink and cabinets full of artsy supplies are sure to spark creative minds. While most of the year the PTP Activity Room is dedicated to adult instructional arts classes, during the summer months it transforms to become the creative “lair” of our amazing summer arts camp programs.

The lawn of the centre is a great seasonal space! From an outdoor art class to an autumn fair, it is ideal for many different occasions. While most of the colder months it goes largely unused, from late spring to early autumn the lawn is often busy with excitement of some event or class that often attracts the looks and/or participation of many who are passing by.

Please note the Lawn is not available to rent.
