Spend the day learning the basics of how to draw magnificent lifelike plants and flowers in this “art meets science workshop” for beginners and experienced alike. Students will be given step-by-step instructions on how to create realistic botanical drawings using graphite pencils. Exercises on gesture, contour drawing, and blending will guide you through the process to produce stunning three-dimensional works.
Instructor Michael Spillane has a broad and eclectic background in the arts and sciences. He teaches art courses at his studio in Mississauga and has instructed courses and workshops at Visual Arts Mississauga, Burlington Art Centre, Guelph School of Art, Southampton Art School, Hardy’s Hobbies & Crafts (Madoc), Elora Centre for the Arts and at the Toronto Botanical Garden.
