Have you always admired beautiful handwriting and wanted to know how to achieve it? Then this beginner’s workshop is for you. Learn the basics of Copperplate Script, a type of calligraphy based on English Roundhand with a beautiful flow that is easy to learn. Discover the simple structure of both the minuscule (lowercase) and majuscule (uppercase) letter forms. Your cards and invitations will take on a whole new flair – this popular script is well within your reach. All tools and materials provided upon payment of Materials Fee to instructor at workshop. This includes oblique holder, pointed flexible nibs, ink, and high quality paper.


Instructor Salman Khattak has been practicing the art of calligraphy since he was a young man. He started a serious study of Arabic and Western Calligraphy 15 years ago and has been teaching online as well as in workshops in Toronto for the past 5 years. Salman is a member and current Vice President of the Calligraphic Arts Guild of Toronto. He practices and teaches a number of scripts including Gothic styles, Italic, Copperplate, Spencerian, and Engrosser’s. Salman was recently featured on the CBC radio show Tapestry.
