Creating abstract art is about using lines, shapes, and colour in a variety of ways, using a variety of mediums. This class will explore the elements and principles of abstract art by creating artworks that explore students’ insights, feelings, and artistic mindset. Students will be inspired by artists such as Kandinsky and will learn how to work with a number of mediums, including acrylic paint, watercolour, pastels, ink, charcoal, clay, paper mache, and collage. The class includes trips to the Centre’s onsite galleries to learn through interacting with the artwork in the current exhibitions. The session will end with an art show where students are invited to share their creativity and pieces with their families. All materials provided.
Class skips October 6 for Thanksgiving Weekend
