MEET YOUR INSTRUCTORS

Instructors Fred & Marlene Ash have been practicing the art form of wood carving for nearly 25 years. Both avid members of the Ontario Wood Carvers Association (OWCA), Fred and Marlene have exhibited at the Aurora Cultural Centre, the McMichael Canadian Art Collection as well as OWCA shows and competitions. They have taught wood carving in Toronto schools and were part of a carving project entitled “The Maple Leaf Forever Tree”, which is on permanent display at the Ontario Science Centre. Marlene is an active member of the Society of York Region Artists in which she enjoys painting in a number of associated mediums. It is Fred & Marlene’s hope to pass on the wood carving skills they have acquired to others in a fun, relaxed manner.
