Expand the range of your playing and get new sounds from the chords you already know! In this class, students will open a whole new world of solo and accompaniment guitar with this introduction to fingerpicking. You’ll learn the basics of guitar tablature and some popular patterns that you can combine and adapt to your favourite songs. Bring an acoustic guitar in working order, a tuner, a capo, and a notebook.
Instructor Anthony Clayton (B.A. Hons., B.Ed., Orff) grew up in a musical family and went to York University, graduating with a Bachelor of Arts, Honors degree. He then attained a teaching degree from the University of Western. Anthony completed his Orff degree from the Toronto Royal Conservatory of Music and is currently a Music teacher with the York Catholic District School Board. Anthony has been teaching guitar, ukulele, and vocal lessons for the past 15 years to students of all ages. He loves writing music and performs regularly across York Region.
