Singer-songwriter Lynn Miles grew up in a musical family, turning her hand to violin, guitar, piano and flute as a child. Luckily for us, she began composing and performing from a tender age, creating a lifework of observation in beautiful, haunting words and music. Heavily in demand south of the border, Miles lived in Nashville and L.A. before (fortunately) returning to Canada to continue her work.
A roots and folk singer, Miles has 10 albums to her credit, been recognized with a Juno for Roots & Traditional Solo Album, and won multiple Canadian Folk Music Awards (including best contemporary singer).
Tonight’s show is a reunion of sorts, as Lynn joins John Sheard (piano) and Dennis Pendrith on the upright bass as they fondly remember the wonderful times they had together touring with the late, great Stuart McLean’s Vinyl Cafe radio show. Keith Glass (Prairie Oyster) will round out the quartet on electric guitar.
