A Johnson Family History: A Community as Curator Heritage Exhibition

Ada Johnson holds the record as Aurora's oldest and longest resident. She was born in 1903 and died in 2013 at age 109 at her Chartwell Park Place Retirement home. Ada was actively involved in educational pursuits and advocated for the creation of local adult night programs including the establishment of language courses. Ada married Norm Johnson who was a Science and Physical Education teacher prior to becoming principal of what is now Dr. G.W. Williams High School. Norm was a veteran of both World Wars.

This exhibition will tell the story of their long family history in Aurora as well as their ties to the Knowles family through interesting artifacts, personal mementos, and historical photographs.
